Erosion and sedimentation problems along 2.3 miles of the Little Wekiva River in Orange County were investigated. Eight bridges were inspected and analyzed for structural integrity. The computer model HEC 6, "Scour and Deposition in Rivers and Reservoirs" was used to predict unchecked erosion and sedimentation trends over the next ten years. This model was first calibrated using flows estimated from actual storm events occurring between 1983 and 1987 and comparing computed results with surveyed river cross sections. DRMP evaluated fifteen options for solving the erosion and sedimentation problems.
