Avenue Sarasota County, Florida This lighting design project provided a combination of decorative and cobra-head roadway luminaries along a 3.6 mile lighting design project. The downtown portion of the project included the downtown shopping district and retrofitting decorative luminaries on a drawbridge. The retrofit involved examining and assessing pilasters and existing surface-mount conduit. Conventional roadway luminare lighting design followed the downtown decorative lighting portion of the project. Due to restricted right-of-way, a majority of the conventional luminaries were placed in the median with dual arms. Since this project was located in an established urban section, continuous and through utility locates and coordination was essential to avoid any potential utility conflicts. Taking into account future development and constantly changing residential and commercial driveway locations, DRMP made several field visits to ensure that lighting design was current and eliminated potential conflicts with commercial development. As part of a complete lighting design, DRMP prepared and designed survey, topo, utility plans sheets and lighting plans sheets.
