This project consists of converting a 2 lane rural roadway into a 4 lane divided roadway. The 4-lane roadway will have 3 different typical sections - an urban section, a suburban section and a rural section. The 2 existing lanes will be milled and resurfaced. They will become the northbound movement. Two additional lanes will be added to the west side of the existing lanes and will become the southbound movement. Sidewalk will be added on the east and west side of Poinciana Boulevard from the canal up to Siesta Lago Road Sidewalk will continue on the east side of Poinciana Boulevard to Pam Drive. A signal will be designed for the intersection of Poinciana Boulevard and Oren Brown Road. The existing box culvert at the canal will be extended. Traffic calming devices such as speed control signs, landscaping and smaller lanes will be utilized to help control speeding through this section of roadway.

DRMP is providing surveying, roadway design, drainage design, structural design and traffic design services for the improvements along Poinciana Boulevard.
