Southern Connector, SR 417
Narcoosee Road to the BeeLine

Orange County, Florida

The project involved new construction of 4.5 miles of four-lane rural expressway with limited access right-of-way. The project included systems interchange design with four miles of one-lane and two-lane ramps, one mile of widening of the existing BeeLine Expressway, and complex vertical and horizontal design tying into the existing partial Eastern Beltway BeeLine Interchange. Signing and marking, lighting, bridge design, right-of-way, maintenance of traffic, and utility relocation plans were also provided for this project.

The lighting design for this project consisted of retrofiting highmast luminaires for the existing partial interchange and the addition of highmast lighting for the new roadway sections. The photometric analysis was completed with both Holophane "CALA" and GE software. The electrical design included retrofit/expansion of existing load centers.
