Citrus County
Long Range Transportation Plan

Transportation Plan Issues

Evaluation Criteria

Evaluation criteria will be used to provide an objective base for the comparison of proposed roadway improvement projects. Numerical values will be assigned to each factor for each proposed project. These criteria will include the following factors:
  • Traffic Congestion Reduction
  • Safety Improvement
  • Economic Development
  • Neighborhood Impacts
  • Environmental Impacts
  • Emergency Evacuation
  • Regional Mobility

Public Involvement
The Study and the Long Range Transportation Plan require your input to succeed. There will be several public workshops, community meetings, and a Public Hearing prior to Plan adoption. Citrus County values all public input so please let us know what your ideas, needs and concerns are.  For each major Public Workshop, there will be three meeting locations as follows:

  • Inverness Auditorium at the Fairgrounds
  • County Government Complex in Lecanto
  • Crystal River/Homosassa Area

Each meeting will present basically the same material on successive days. This format will enhance public participation by accommodating persons throughout the County.  Additional public meetings and workshops may be conducted for the municipalities of Inverness and Crystal River. In addition, stakeholder group meetings are anticipated throughout the study process to provide a smaller, less formal environment for persons to receive project information and provide comments.
