Marriott Grande Vista Resort
Orange County, Florida

This is a 900-unit timeshare and golf training center resort project consisting of 16 timeshare buildings, a central shopping area, a golf clubhouse, and a 9 hole golf course and training center. The total project area covers approximately 165 acres in Orange County.

DRMP has performed all the site civil design, permitting, and plans preparation for the project. This includes permit applications to various State and Federal agencies for wetland encroachment and mitigation, as well as storm water management. The site plans have been coordinated with other design professionals such as architects, landscape designers, golf course and associated irrigation designers.

The project has been designed to integrate five on-site stormwater ponds and a 12 acre lake into the golf course and timeshare building layouts. These ponds have been designed to hold water at all times and maintain a water surface elevation acceptable to the golf course designer during storm events up to and including the 100-year, 72-hour storm. The larger lake discharge has been designed to enhance the surrounding wetland community.

Major elements of the project include the installation of a double 10' high by 12' wide reinforced concrete box culvert into an existing canal adjacent to the project, incorporation of the Orange County water re-use system, construction of boardwalks and bridges to avoid wetland destruction, burial of an existing 230Kv overhead electrical transmission line, and the reshaping of an existing borrow pit into the lake amenity.
