CR 951 PD&E Study from Immokalee Road to Alico Road
Collier and Lee Counties

DRMP is currently managing a PD&E Study for the proposed CR 951 Extension, which involves a potential new alignment location east of Interstate 75 in northeast Collier County and southwest Lee County, Florida. The limits of the proposed extension are from the existing intersection of CR 951 and Immokalee Road in Collier County to a point along Alico Road in Lee County, a distance of approximately 15 miles and a project corridor 75 square miles in size. The study is anticipated to involve the evaluation of a four-lane arterial roadway with controlled and/or limited access.

In September 2002, the Lee County Board of County Commissioners, in association with the Collier County Board of County Commissioners and the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), commissioned DRMP to prepare a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study to identify, evaluate and document the potential social, economic and environmental effects of the proposed action. The PD&E Study involves the development and comparative evaluation of viable alignment alternatives as well as environmental impact assessments to fully address potential project impacts. An extensive public involvement program is being conducted to inform and involve property owners, business owners and operators, public officials and the general public throughout the study process. A consensus building process has been incorporated into the public involvement program to present the study process and address community concerns throughout the study.
