CR 470 Water Main Extension
Sumter County, Florida

DRMP designed the water distribution system including hydraulic modeling for this water main extension project that included 17,000 LF of 12-inch water main used along CR 470, CR 529, CR 527A and CR 527B.  The project allows the City of Bushnell to better employ their existing water treatment plant by providing water service to more customers, while economic incentive is provided for potential growth along CR 470, which has access to both the Turnpike and I-75. Even though the client requested an additional 4,000 LF of water main along CR 527 during the final design phase, DRMP staff was able to complete the design within the established project schedule. Permitting was required with the FDEP and FDOT.  Survey services and SUE were required to identify and map over three miles of utility corridor.

Lake Panasoffkee Wastewater Study Update
Sumter County, Florida

DRMP staff updated a study previously prepared by DRMP in 1994 to determine the feasibility of constructing a wastewater collection and transmission system along the CR 470 corridor that connects to the City of Bushnell’s wastewater treatment plant.  The proposed wastewater system will service the Lake Panasoffkee community and help to maintain the water quality of the lake by removal of septic systems.  A map of the existing systems along CR 470 was prepared to determine the core commercial areas to be served along CR 470.  DRMP conducted two public information meetings with the community to first solicit feedback on the approach and then to present the initial finding of the report.
