THREATENED & ENDANGERED SPECIES
The conflict between land development and conservation of habitats and ecosystems remains constant as the demands for population growth continues. In Florida, there are over 500 protected species listed as endangered, threatened or species of special concern by federal, state and local governmental agencies. DRMP’s wildlife ecologists and botanists are knowledgeable and experienced in navigating through the complicated conservation requirements our clients must meet for their land development. Our staff can identify critical habitat that support endangered and threatened species, develop plans to avoid conflicts with those species, acquire permits, and develop species-specific mitigation and conservation plans. In doing so, DRMP’s staff will act as a liaison between the client and the regulatory agencies to negotiate a solution to complex environmental issues.
