DRMP was contracted to designate, locate and map all of the utilities within selected segments of the project corridor for the engineering team who was responsible for designing the new spurs, new stations, double tracks and affiliated structures necessary to accommodate the existing CSX tracks. DRMP was also contracted by WRS (Westinghouse Remedial Services) to horizontally locate any potential conflicts along a 60 + mile project corridor. In doing so, underground utility damages were prevented when soil samples were taken for an environmental assessment of the project corridor. In addition, DRMP was hired to prevent underground utility damages by locating potential conflicts horizontally for a geotechnical team taking water samples along the project corridor.

DRMP employed the use of electromagnetic designation equipment, ground penetrating radar (GPR) and air vacuum excavation techniques to locate the horizontal and vertical positions of all impacted underground utilities within the project corridor to assist the engineering team with the design of this road widening project.

DRMP systematically located (both horizontally and vertically) all of the subsurface utilities from Lee Vista Boulevard to Conway Road (approximately 3.8 miles) at 300 foot cross sections. This provided valuable information to help the engineering team design this roadway expansion effectively by identifying potential conflicts with underground utilities in the early stages of the design phase of this project.
