GENERAL CIVIL - MUNICIPAL SERVICES

Capital Circle Southeast from Woodville Highway to Tram Road
Blueprint 2000, Tallahassee

DRMP was involved on this $17 million roadway widening project.  This project involved widening of 2.2 miles of two-lane road to a six-lane urban section.  This project involved major stormwater design, intersection design, roadway design, utility coordination, right-of-way acquisition and lighting. DRMP coordinated with internal and client staff and subconsultants, managed schedules, and coordinated submittal for the project under an accelerated schedule.  DRMP was responsible for preparing a 60% plus submittal that included full Right-of-Way mapping.

Downtown Utility and Streetscape Project
City of Fort Myers

DRMP is overseeing infrastructure improvements to City-owned utilities (including water, wastewater and reuse water) as well as the implementation of a downtown master plan.  The project initially required master planning for utilities for the entire downtown district in order to accommodate for future growth predicted along the Caloosahatchee River as well as conceptual planning and design of new sidewalks and pedestrian amenities.  In addition, DRMP will provide the City with a completely redesigned downtown by addressing other disciplines within the project area including roadway and intersection design, traffic and signalization, traffic control plans, parking analyses, lighting, solid waste management, stormwater management, landscape and irrigation.  DRMP will also provide the City with permitting and bidding assistance and construction administration/construction engineering inspection services until the completion of the project.

Public Works Yard, West Side Fire Station, Water Storage Tank, & Wastewater Pump Station Design
City of Maitland

DRMP aided the City in the selection of a 20-acre parcel, performed due diligence and master planning for the development of the Public Works Yard consisting of a Grounds Maintenance Building, Fleet Maintenance Building and an Office/Shops 2-story Building.  The Office/Shops Building is connected to the existing Utilities Building by a covered bridged walkway spanning over an 18-inch raw water line that is buried between the buildings.  In addition to the Public Works Yard, the site includes the West Side Fire Station, a new 750,000-gallon potable water ground storage tank, the restoration of the existing 750,000-gallon ground storage tank, a 160 gpm, 10 horsepower submersible wastewater pump station, as well as general park/recreational areas.  The property was rezoned to a Planned Development to allow for public/semi-public use.  The master planning effort involved incorporation of the needs of the surrounding community to buffer the lights and noise from the public works yard.  Meandering sidewalks as well as bike paths along the roadways provide a pedestrian/bike ‘friendly’ site.

Trotters Park
City of Orlando

DRMP provided master planning, site/civil development and permitting for this 200-acre multi-use park, formerly known as Ben White Raceway.  The park consists of a combination of four softball and baseball fields, four regulation soccer fields, a lighted exercise path and a concession booth. DRMP worked with the City to maintain a high degree of sensitivity for the Park’s historic features.  DRMP worked closely with the City of Orlando and FDOT to modify the four-lanes of Lee Road for capacity and safety.  As part of the Mayors Parks Initiative Program, Trotters Park earned numerous awards and today is one of the most actively used public parks in the City of Orlando.

Front Beach Road Program Management
City of Panama City Beach

DRMP is currently serving as the program manager overseeing the redevelopment of Panama City Beach’s infrastructure.  As a program manager, DRMP works as an extension of the City providing our staff and resources in coordinating and managing the City’s contracted consultants who will provide services for all planned roadway improvement construction projects.  Like many communities in Florida, Panama City Beach is experiencing an explosion of redevelopment due to a growth in population.  The City’s infrastructure was already in dire need of redevelopment and expansion.  With all of the current and planned construction for many high-rise condominiums, large resort complexes and entertainment venues with associated services the infrastructure had to be reconstructed and enlarged to accommodate the ongoing, rapid growth..  The current program cost is estimated at $500 million, which includes planning, engineering and design, Right-of-Way, roadway, drainage, utility, streetscaping and parking accommodations.  It is anticipated the redevelopment efforts for the City will require all of the projects to follow in succession over the next 10 years.
