RCA Study Purpose

The purpose of this RCA Study is to document the need for the proposed roadway improvements, review the impacts and costs of the project and involve the public during this decision making process.  The RCA Study will include preparation of a series of environmental and engineering reports to document the evaluation of potential social, economic and environmental impacts associated with the proposed improvements to Lake Underhill Road.

The proposed Lake Underhill Road improvements will generally follow the existing roadway alignment. Where possible, the existing right-of-way will be used to the maximum extent possible to contain the anticipated improvements.  The types of improvements that will be considered include:

• Widening the existing two-lane road to a four-lane roadway
• Signalization and intersection improvements
• Access Management
• Addition of sidewalks, bicycle lanes, bus stop improvements, and other safety enhancements
• Landscaping, roadway lighting, and drainage enhancements
