GENERAL CIVIL - HEALTHCARE

Adventist Health System Corporate Headquarters
Adventist Health

DRMP provided civil site infrastructure design for the construction of a 5-story, 150,000 square foot office building located within the City of Altamonte Springs’ Gateway Activity Center.  The headquarters houses nearly 400 employees and is a LEED Silver Certified by the US Green Building Council.  The project included site due diligence for 17 parcels prior to purchasing.  This site posed several challenges for the site layout and preliminary design as it was located within a 100-year floodplain as well as an 8-acre wetland and contained varying depths of muck.  The site is also bound on all four sides by existing roadways that were accommodated into the design.  Parking was provided by surface parking lots and the master stormwater pond is approximately 6-acres in size to accommodate the floodplain compensation required by the floodplain impact.  Pedestrian connections were provided to two retail developments to the north to provide easy and safe access to these developments.  The utility design included the design of a lift station and a reclaimed water line for irrigation.  A Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan was prepared for the contractor to eliminate and monitor erosion control during construction of the project.

Celebration Heath Hospital Master Plan and Design

Celebration Health Hospital Master Plan and Design
Florida Hospital

DRMP provided topographic and boundary surveys, design and permitting of the stormwater management system, water distribution system, sanitary collection system, lift-station and re-use system.  The project is located on 65-acres within the newly formed City of Celebration in Osceola County, Florida.  The project also included the relocation of an existing 10-acre borrow pit.  The initial phase includes a 230,000 square foot facility.  The second phase includes a 120,000 sf patient wing and emergency department.  The estimated cost for initial construction is $48 Million.

Ginsburg Tower and Downtown Campus Expansion

Ginsburg Tower and Downtown Campus Expansion
Florida Hospital

DRMP performed conceptual design, civil engineering design and various studies for Florida Hospital’s Ginsburg Tower project. The project was studied and designed for a period of five years.  Florida Hospital Orlando’s new 15-story patient tower, which houses 440-patient beds (200 upon completion and 240 future beds), one of the largest Emergency Departments and one of the largest cardiac catheterization labs in the Country.  The new patient tower was designed to create a total healing atmosphere that reduces stress, replenishes the spirit, and is visually appealing.  The project was delivered in a design-build methodology with all key stakeholders working together to conceptualize and design a “healing environment,” which was important to Florida Hospital and their patients.  The patient tower was completed in late 2008 and opened to mark Florida Hospital’s 100th year of service to the Central Florida community.

Kissimmee Campus Medical Office Building
Florida Hospital

DRMP provided civil site infrastructure design for the construction of a 3-story, 85,000 square foot medical office building and associated parking lot on the existing 17.4 acre Florida Hospital Kissimmee campus.  An existing parking lot area was reconfigured to accommodate the proposed medical office building and 459 required parking spaces.  The proposed parking area consisted of approximately 4-acres.  DRMP performed engineering services including site design, paving/grading, utilities and stormwater design.  DRMP prepared a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan for the contractor to eliminate and monitor erosion control during construction of the project.

Translational Research Institute
Florida Hospital

DRMP provided conceptual design, site design, utilities and stormwater design for the Translational Research Institute (TRI).  The TRI is a 4-story, 54,000 sf building located within the Health Village with a 125 space parking lot.  The TRI is devoted to the study of obesity and metabolic origins of cardiovascular disease and houses some of the most technologically advanced clinical and diagnostic equipment in the United States.  To accommodate current parking, DRMP prepared a parking study for City approval to allow TRI users to park in an existing garage and offsite lot.  A future parking garage is planned in an adjacent parcel.
